FairPoint Communications Joins ShoreTel® TechConnect Program, Validates SIP Trunking Interoperability with ShoreTel UC Phone Systems
We are excited – and proud – to join ShoreTel’s TechConnect Program, having completed all of the necessary steps for validating the interoperability of our session initiation protocol (SIP) Trunking solution with the ShoreTel Unified Communications (UC) phone systems. In order to qualify, FairPoint had to meet a stringent set of requirements, including:
- Submitting for review an application note or configuration guide showing how our solution integrates with the ShoreTel UC phone systems, including all setup parameters, test cases, and results.
- ShoreTel testing, validation, and documentation of interoperability of our SIP Trunking solution with ShoreTel’s published software interfaces.
- Providing reference customers using the combined solution.
- Committing to keep solution and supporting interoperability documentation current within two major releases of the ShoreTel software.
The TechConnect Program is designed to bring added value by providing a formal structure for third-party development, validation, and documentation of interoperability with ShoreTel solutions.
FairPoint’s SIP Trunking, delivered over our private Ethernet network, is an IP-based trunk service that can be configured to support both traditional Private Branch Exchanges (PBXs) and IP-PBXs. SIP Trunking can be an IP replacement for traditional Primary Rate Interface (PRI), T1 and analog line PBX interfaces, or can be delivered natively to an IP enabled PBX. SIP Trunking can use the same Ethernet circuit that provides Internet access, eliminating the need for separate voice and data transport.
